The In’s & Out’s of Organic Cotton

Both regular and organic cotton are high-quality materials that produce premium-quality products (in our case, cool socks). However, organic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals and leaves a lighter carbon footprint behind.

That’s why we’re working to include more of it in our original socks! While many of our Athletic designs were already made with organic cotton, we wanted to bring this more sustainable practice to the production of our Casual socks as well!

That’s where our Garden Collection comes in! It’s our first collection made with 100% ISO & OEKO - TEX® certified organic cotton. And it’s just the beginning.

But is organic really better?

Benefits

  • Less water contamination

  • Less air pollution

  • Lower impact on the surrounding ecosystems

  • Better crop diversity = healthier soil = more stable ecosystems which, in turn, creates more jobs as the land can be farmed year round

Drawbacks

  • Smaller yields

  • More expensive to produce & harvest

  • Supply can’t always keep up with demand

In the end, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. And while we’d love to go in 100% with organic cotton, we want to do so responsibly. In the meantime, we’ll be able to stay on track with our sustainability goals!

Thanks socks much for reading!
