Read on to learn more about her inspiration, process, and vision for this one-of-a-kind collaboration.

Themes of beauty, nature, and transformation often appear throughout your art. How do these elements come into play in this collection? And where else do you find inspiration?

My main source of inspiration is nature, there’s nothing more beautiful or more perfect. I adore medieval paintings, the Renaissance and decorative art, among other things. Color is my obsession and artisanal goods are my passion. I love to work with my hands, and I really enjoy painting. I like to think that I transmit some of that good energy through my paintings. For the Jimmy Lion designs, I was inspired by medieval paintings, the Italian Renaissance and bengal tigers from Jaipur.

On your Instagram, you've cited William Morris, who believed that beauty and utility are inextricably linked. In his essay "The Beauty of Life", he said, "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." How do you translate this philosophy of beauty and utility into something as wearable as socks?

A beautiful pair of socks that match just right are a must-have for me to feel my best and to be able to take steps forward.

You've worked with a variety of materials and mediums. Is there one that feels more “you” than the others, or do you enjoy the versatility of working across different forms?

The material I’m most familiar with is acrylic paint on paper, but I’ve always liked painting on different surfaces like fabric, furniture and ceramics. Even though it can be somewhat daunting, I’m really drawn to painting on a large scale. I think it’s important to go out of your comfort zone in order to evolve as an artist.

What was your favorite part of working on this collection, and how did you go about selecting the designs? Was there a particular vision you wanted to bring to life?

The truth is that I’ve been a fan of the brand for a long time, practically all of my socks are from Jimmy Lion, so this collaboration is especially exciting to me. My goal is to always transmit good energy. Beautiful objects bring so much joy, so my greatest aspiration is to do that.

You often draw inspiration from mythology. Is there a particular goddess, mythological figure, symbol, or story that resonates with you most? How does it influence your designs?

In general I love painting women, [and] these are kind of invented goddesses from my subconscious. I like to create my own symbolism with things.

And, finally — Coffee or tea?

I’ve always been more of a tea person, but lately I’ve been having an emergency coffee in a pinch.

Thanks socks much for reading!
